Pakava It’ releases a new album. It includes compositions written since 2000 till 2008.

The title of the disk was suggested to Pakava by a newspaper of a small German city of Reutlingen that gave such a definition to the style of our music and the manner of its performance. Since that time the concept of the disk that comprises tracks written in different countries and dedicated to different stories and people (some of them took part in the record of the album) was being developed. We love to travel and do it rather often – that’s why we were working at the album for a long time. Material for it was gathered piece by piece in every place we visited...

Citadel records releases the first album by a young musician from Israel Ophir Kutiel (pen-name, as well as the name of the release is Kutiman). Kutiman started working at the album after moving to Tel-Aviv from Zichron, a small village in the north of the country. Specific style, elaborated by Kutiel, combines elements of funk, hip-hop, afro-beat, psychedelic rock and even folk, but does not coincide with any of these styles.

The constant members of the project Nao Suzuki (drums), Kentaro Miyama and Hiroaki Kusumoto (vocal) are close friends for many years already. The long-expected release of Citadel Records is the fifth album of Moscow Grooves Institute. This is their first disk since 2002. In all Boris Nazarov and Arkady Marto wrote 17 tracks but the album consist only 15 and another residuary tracks will be published on Citadel compilations and west-version of the album.

The release of the album in Russia and Europe is planned on the end of March. Taking into account the wishes of the west partners expressed after MIDEM 2006 where the demo-material was performed for the first time MGI decided to distinguish Russian and European releases. That’s why disks will be published with small differences in track-lists.

The new sounding of MGI is harder now because Groove Institute used live instruments to show riches and variety of a new sound. But one of the main features of the fifth disk is that on the last stage of the album’s preparing Arkady Marto improvised with rhodes-piano and it was imposed on the finished sound...
