According to the members of DSM Formation, the conception of the album “Jekyll/Hide” was invented by the leader of the project Dmitri Mesheryakov, who left for Canada 7 years ago. Via Internet he sent sketches reflecting the mood of each composition to his Russian colleagues and they combined these sketches with DSM Formation new sound in order to achieve an extraordinary musical palette for each track.
The amount of work done by the musicians while preparing the album may be compared to the huge distance separating Russia from Canada. And the results of this work will be appreciated at their true value not only by the admirers of DSM Formation creative work, but also by all the lovers of good futuristic house.
«Jekyll/Hide» is an attempt to mix dance cultures of Russia and Canada. In this album sarcasm alternates with excitement, deep melancholy – with joy. It is a musical oxymoron, a harmonious combination of contrasts. Jekyll and Hide, Yin and Yang of modern house stage, where DSM Formation act as bold experimenters.
