Citadel records releases the first album by a young musician from Israel Ophir Kutiel (pen-name, as well as the name of the release is Kutiman). Kutiman started working at the album after moving to Tel-Aviv from Zichron, a small village in the north of the country. Specific style, elaborated by Kutiel, combines elements of funk, hip-hop, afro-beat, psychedelic rock and even folk, but does not coincide with any of these styles.
Many musicians took part in the record of the disk (Elran Dekel, Karolina, Dotan Segal, Shlomi Alon, Ronen Sabbo and the others). Kutiel - composer, producer, author of several songs - in his self-titled debut also plays most of musical instruments: guitar, bass, drums, percussions and keyboards.
In November of 2007 “KUTIMAN” was released by a German label Melting Pot Music; soon the album became popular in Europe, Japan and Australia. In February of 2008 it appeared in the United States.
In a few months kaleidoscopic sound form Tel-Aviv is coming to Russia. Presentation of the album will take place at the concert with Kutiman Orchestra and other famous Russian and foreign musicians starring.
